On the beach

Beaches are crowded in Rio. Want to see a festival of bikinis lying on their 2 square meters, go on Copacabana during weekend.

2

Body building

Also Brazilians take care a lot of their body: body building, musculation. This is very impressive. We met 2 guys dancing capoera on the street. What they do, was fantastic. Clic on the video below or http://youtu.be/oIvdCv7iyG4

3

AGUÀ, CAMARÃO, AGUÀ!

Also beach is full of sellers (food, bikinis, refreshments, beach chair...). They are all the time crossing the beach, screaming the name of what they sell.
Some street food.

4

Inside a favela

Last but now least we entered in one favela. Favela is the name of the poor quarter of the city, where there is a lot of violence. In Vidigal, it has been pacified before world cup. So we went to discover it...

5

In the heart of Vidigal

From this place, we wanted to avoid the expensive mototaxis that drives us up (3€ each). Going down was a good option. We could admire the real daily life of inhabitants

6

Did you say ... toilet paper?
"No toilet paper in the toilet but in the trash. Miam!"

To avoid to chock the weaks, we choose another picture

7

Rio and tropical climate
Heat is everywhere and people are used to:

- get shadow from trees in the streets of the city.
- bus and hostels all have air conditioning (take care of not getting cold) and no heating

8

Electricity in the air

High tension voltage doesn't exist here. So is this mess: each inhabitants link his home wire to the electric pylon.
