15. The Iguazu waterfalls

- Ready to visit the famous Iguazu falls, we woke up early to avoid the touristic crowd. We arrived at 8:30 and started the visit under a grey sky but with a spirit of curiosity.
Inferior tour

- We began the inferior tour to approach the waterfalls downside. There was only few people, that let us enjoy a lot the landscapes. The water level was quite high and we observed on the opposite bank a metallic armature destroyed by waters. It might be the broken footbridge!
Gargantas del diablo

- By approaching the San Martin Island, closed nowadays, we catched sight of the most impressive falls: las Gargantas del diablo (gorge of the devil). These gorges recover most of the waters from the river Iguazy. The waters diving from 50m circa, makes dreadful noises and the mist around the water downside is so huge that we could't see the stirred waters.
- We got closer of another part of the waterfalls and started to discover the spectacle of the falls. The explosion of the water was looking similar to the lava of a volcano. What a huge quantity of water!
Superior tour

- The superior tour was full of tourists. We had to slalom between groups of elderly persons and travelling classes to see the falls from the top. The view was gorgeous but we had to be patient!
The waterfalls birds

- In some waterfalls, some small birds were clawing at the rocks and diving into spatters. It was a local specy that loves to create their net behind the waterfalls : http://youtu.be/GZu-q15y8P8
Coatis

- Some coatis were also living here. Kind of a anteater, this mammal likes be taken in photography by tourists and steals their lunchs. It doesn't fear human at all!
- We left finally the park prematurely under a heavy rain... It rained cats and dogs all the afternoon. So bad!
